PACT, Inc. - About Us - Tutorial Program

This program provided tutorial services to a total of 516 middle and high school students during the year at Benjamin Franklin, James Lick, and Gloria R. David Middle Schools and at Balboa High School.

In addition, the staff conducted workshops on college information and planning, career information, classroom behavior management, and study skills.

Knowing that students will aspire to a higher education when given early exposure, the middle school program conducted college campus visits to San Jose State University, San Francisco State University, and UC Berkeley.

For many children who have never left their neighborhood areas, visits to the Lawrence Hall of Science, the San Jose Museum of Technology and attending a performance of the Harlem Boy’s Choir, for example, are delightful, as well as educationally and culturally enriching.
