Who We Are

PACT, Inc. is a private, non-profit California Corporation, which provides services to the San Francisco Bay Area since 1963.

The visionary founders, Mr. Everett Brandon and Dr. Henry Lucas, saw the wisdom of creating a structure for many different programs in response to the needs of the African American community and other underrepresented groups in education, business and employment.

PACT began to operate in 1964, and in 1965 began to operate its first Educational Talent Search Project which was funded by the U.S. Department of Education. The program has expanded and continues presently.

PACT Facts
PACT, Inc. has operated an Educational Talent Search Project funded by the U. S. Department of Education since 1965. Not only has the program provided services in the area of post secondary admissions and financial aid counseling for low income students, but it has significantly increased the college going pattern in San Francisco. Since 1965, PACT has placed approximately 36,000 young people in colleges and other post secondary institutions, most with financial assistance.

Approximately 3,000 students benefit from our services annually.

In addition to its services to individuals, PACT has become an integral part of the network of equal access activities in California through its staff involvement in many local and statewide organizations.
